About This Event
What would it be like to run a business, manage a bank account, earn a paycheck, or help lead a community? In this engaging financial literacy program, students will explore the real-world skills that help people manage money, make decisions, and participate in the world of work. Through five Friday workshops at The Curve, students will learn about budgeting, banking, saving and spending, business operations, civic responsibility, and how individuals and businesses contribute to a community. They’ll build financial knowledge, practice problem-solving, and discover how the concepts they learn connect to everyday life.
The excitement culminates with a visit to Junior Achievement’s JA BizTown, an interactive simulated community where students put their learning into action! During this immersive experience, students take on real-world roles as workers, consumers, and citizens. They might operate a business, work in a bank, write checks, manage money, or participate in an election for mayor. As they collaborate with their peers and navigate the responsibilities of running a town, students will gain practical experience with financial decision-making, teamwork, communication, and leadership.
JA BizTown is a fantastic opportunity for students to build confidence with money, explore the world of business, and develop skills they’ll use throughout their lives. Get ready to learn by doing—and discover how much there is to know about running a successful community!
