HCHC Leadership Academy is a Maryland-based nonprofit homeschool cooperative and umbrella group serving families in Columbia and Frederick. Founded in 2013, with roots reaching back nearly two decades, HCHC provides a welcoming, inclusive environment where homeschoolers learn, connect, and grow through hands-on, project-based learning guided by certified teachers, tutors, and experienced educators.

We offer flexible options for families, including free recess hours for socialization, drop-in punch cards, and full memberships. As a state-certified umbrella group, we support families in meeting Maryland homeschool requirements with portfolio reviews, record keeping assistance, and mentorship. Each term, we rotate between open-classroom settings, traditional academic spaces, and an organic farm to provide meaningful, nature-connected learning experiences.

We welcome families of all faiths and philosophies and are proud to be one of Maryland’s leading secular homeschool co-ops. We foster a safe, inclusive, and bully-free community where every child signs a kindness pledge.
